how do I use investor insights ?
A STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO CREATING A REPORT.
**UPDATE**. Following the private Beta Programme feedback, Investor Insights is currently being improved with extra functions. Notably the ability to create a report from just a Company Name and improved report formats.
before I search. What do I need ?
a patent from the company i want to investigate.
From this patent you need to take the “Claims” text.
the industry sector / product area the company works in.
now you can login and try a search.
Step 1.
click on “Begin the search”.
When you login, you will arrive at the Home page. Clicking on ‘Begin the Search’ takes you to the search screen to start a new search.
Step 2.
enter “company name, or project name”.
This will be the name of the final report that is generated.
Step 3.
search with keword(s) and select “business sector/category”.
You can select multiple categories but for best results you want to be specific and only choose the relevant business areas.
There are two levels of business category to select from.
Use the + symbol to expand the higher level.
Use the tick box to select a category.
For example as seen in screenshots :-
The higher level ( e.g. “ +Transporting ” )
The sub level ( e.g. +Transporting - Aircraft )
Step 4.
select your “territories”.
Investor Insights allows you to search across 140 million innovations and patents which are spread across 21 territory collections.
These are based on 21 different patent authorities.
You can greatly increase the accuracy and focus of your search by only selecting the geographies of interest.
Step 5.
enter the patent “claims text”.
The Claims section of a patent is clearly marked. You can find out more about Patent Claims here
Step 6.
begin the search, and in a few minutes your report will be ready
Start your search, and in a few minutes your report will be ready and may be downloaded in pdf format.
We will also email you with a link to get your report.
